I thought of Hermione from Harry Potter for my response because even though she fears failure and has insecurities, she always knows what she wants and is always true to herself (Emma Watson’s words there too). She doesn’t seek out popularity or fame. She just happens to be the best friend of the Boy Who Lived. And she doesn’t fancy him!
Ironically she’d end up becoming one of the most famous witches ever, and even be on a Chocolate Frog card.
Anyway, I picked this screenshot from the Philosopher’s Stone because it’s the first time Hermione finds acceptance and ultimately two incredibly strong friendships (Harry and Ron have just saved her from the troll in a Hogwarts lavatory, and she’s just saved their arses by lying to the teachers). And that beats having popularity any day.
Plus, Emma Watson is sooo cute. She was a perfect Hermione. ♥

I’m working on a post at the moment called “Top Ten Greatest Quotes That Had Nothing To Do With Storyline, and Everything To Do With Character” I love the scene when Herminone saves the dragon from Gringots in the Deathly Hallows. Ok, it actually did have something to do with the storyline, but it was such a “Hermione” thing to do that I have to count it anyway.
There are a lot of typical Hermione moments throughout the series. Like conjuring wreaths when she and Harry visit the Potters’ graves in Godric’s Hollow in Deathly Hallows. That woman is the soul of tact and sensitivity!
I’d like to read that full post! Look forward to it.
